“TRAVELING WILBURYS VOL. 3” by The Traveling Wilburys (comprised of George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty & Jeff Lynne)

This LP title was released by Wilbury Records on October 30, 1990 with catalog number 26324-1.

HOWEVER, the LP in this auction is the COLUMBIA RECORD CLUB ISSUE that was also issued in 1990.

The bottom of the rear cover has the printing:
“MANUFACTURED BY COLUMBIA HOUSE UNDER LICENSE”

The catalog number for this COLUMBIA RECORD CLUB ISSUE is W1-26324. This record club catalog number is printed on both the labels and at the top of the spine on the cover.

The rarity and value of record club pressings is based on the fact that you COULD NOT walk into a record store and purchase this LP in 1990. You HAD to be a member of the Columbia Record Club to order it and receive it by mail, which makes it less common, more desirable and more valuable than the regular pressing. In fact, the Price Guide for the Beatles American Records, 6th Edition places the value of this record club pressing at 3 TIMES the value of the regular pressing.

This “Traveling Wilburys Vol. 3” LP was the second and final LP produced by The Traveling Wilburys.

The first Traveling Wilburys LP, “Traveling Wilburys Vol. 1”,was released in 1988, but there was NOT a Volume 2 produced.

Roy Orbison, often identified with his early hit “Pretty Woman” and one of the original Traveling Wilburys, died prior to the recording of this Volume 3 LP.

The COVER IS IN NEAR MINT (NM) CONDITION with just a tiny bit, a “hint”, of very slight wear at the bottom corner of the opening. The COVER is in its ORIGINAL SHRINK WRAP.

The VINYL is also in NEAR MINT CONDITION.

The custom inner paper sleeve is not present and not included.
It’s become a LESS COMMON Traveling Wilburys LP to find, especially this Columbia Record Club issue, AND in GREAT CONDITION, TOO!!!
