1965 UK 1st PRESS MONO LP
**EARLIEST POSSIBLE COPY**
Both sides of this copy bear 1/G, 1/G mother/stamper codes which confirm it as one of the first few hundred copies pressed.
This earliest possible copy of a 1965 UK 1st mono pressing is on the UK black & yellow Parlophone label: PMC 1255
Both labels include the 'Sold in UK..' text & 'Gramophone Co..' rims.
The 'KT' tax/price code is visible on the side 2 label.
Housed in a front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed mono cover.
Complete with its original 'Use Emitex' rice-paper lined inner-sleeve.
Matrix numbers: XEX 549-2 & XEX 550-2
Stamper numbers: 1/G & 1/G

Labels: EXCELLENT
Visual: EXCELLENT
Clean & bright surfaces bearing just a single 1cm light scratch & fingernail scuff on side 1. Side 2 has just two small scuffs but no scratches or other marks.
Careful inspection directly under halogen desk lamp reveals a few wispy sleeve removal hairlines but no other marks or wear either side.
100% flat both sides on the turntable with no dishing or warping.
Audio: EXCELLENT MINUS
Frequently but carefully played, some light intermittant groovewear is audible on some tracks but there is no major lessening to the sound quality overall.
Both run-ins and all bands play extremely quietly and without intereference.
There are no heavy clicks, jumps, repeats or any other major audible faults.
Cover: EXCELLENT PLUS
A superb example - pristine white & completely unyellowed both front & rear.
The front panel displays a few tiny laminate wrinkles along the lower edge but is otherwise perfect with no thumbnails, creases or other wear
There is just the slightest bruising to the left corners but all are clean and unbumped. Both opening edges are totally unworn.
The rear panel is again pristine & perfect condition with no with no marks, disclouration or other wear.
All flipbacks, spine & seams are perfect & totally undamaged.
All discs are carefully play graded in their entirety on a Rega P9 deck with an Ortofon Kontrapunkt 'A' cartridge.
