Description

Introducing the Beatles was their 1st American release. released in the summer of 1963. Vee Jay Records initially had acquired the rights to distribute the Beatles records in 1962 as Capitol records  through it's affiliation with EMI had right of 1st refusal. Believe it or not they actually took a pass on the Beatles 1st release.
The record actually didn't do well initially. Love Me Do their first huge hit had yet to be recorded. Vee Jay had financial issues in 1963 and 1964. The lost the Beatles rights for non-payment of royalties.
Capitol enters the scene and the rest becomes history.
Vee Jay however still has this album - Introducing the Beatles. This record is regarded as the most counterfeited record in history.
This specimen is authentic as evidenced by the following:
a) Cover is glossy
b) Images are sharp
c) George's shadow is evident to the right
d) record is in a Vee Jay sleeve
e) Introducing the Beatles and The Beatles are both above the spindle hole. The Beatles are below the hole on fakes
f) the label is glossy. fakes are flat
g) The rainbow colorband in shows gradual transitions between the various colors
h) The trail off ( deadwax) is less than 1" wide.
i) The Letters MR are circled in the dead wax.
This is one of the best copies to arrive on eBay in quite some time.
