John Lennon: 'IMAGINE' – ORIGINAL 1971 QUADRAPHONIC UK APPLE VINYL LP – Q4 PAS 10004 RARE HARDLY SEEN APPLE UK **QUADRAPHONIC** JOHN LENNON ORIGINAL, SUPERB EXAMPLE!! - Released in 1971, in a very small quantity, this is a RARE and ORIGINAL UK Apple QUADRAPHONIC Vinyl LP for John Lennon’s ICONIC LP Release IMAGINE.
This EMI/Apple 33 1/3rd rpm Quadraphonic Record is Produced by the SQ System which permits the reproduction of sound from FOUR separate channels when a Special SQ de-coder is used in association with Suitable amplifiers and four loud speakers. This SQ Record will be reproduced as two channel STEREO when played through standard stereo equipment.
The album is on the official Apple Records label with an image of John’s face inset into the Apple on side 1. Side 2 has the custom half Apple label. Both labels display the ‘Apple Records’ Label rim, ‘An EMI Recording’ statement, and ‘Mfd in UK’. Additionally, both record labels show the Quadraphonic SQ System logo. The album contains 10 tracks.
The Official Matrix and Stamper information is as follows: Side 1 matrix: QEX 865-3/Side 2 matrix QEX 866-3. Side 1 stampers: 1 H /Side 2 stampers: 1 R.
Both record labels are in superb Near Mint condition, with just a couple of centre spindle lines to each label.
Both sides of the Heavyweight Vinyl disc grade in SUPERB Excellent Plus condition - the Vinyl is very bright showing only a couple of light bag rash lines, and a couple of light surface hairlines.
The Vinyl LP comes in its Original Double Sided Printed Inner Bag, showing the lyrics to the songs on one side and the track listing and credits to the album on the other. There is also a collage of black and white photographs surrounding the track listings. The package also includes an Original black and white Postcard of John Lennon, together with a very nice Original folded Poster of John in the White Room on his famous Piano, this image was photographed by Peter Fordham.The poster, inner bag and postcard are all in Excellent Plus to Near Mint condition.
The album and contents are protected in a glossy Picture Sleeve. The official Quadraphonic SQ System Logo appears on the top right hand corner of the front of the sleeve. The Original UK 1st Issue glossy Picture Sleeve is a SUPERB Excellent condition, a firm sleeve with no tearing or handwriting, minimal edge and corner wear. The Spine is in great shape and clearly reads 'Imagine', 'John Lennon' 'Apple', ‘Q4 PAS 10004'.
