In this auction are TWO JOHN LENNON PROMOTIONAL RECORDS & PICTURE SLEEVES.

As you probably know, PROMOTIONAL RECORDS were pressed in very limited quantities and were only made available to the DJs/Radio Stations for on-air play. They were NOT made available for sale to the general public. This makes them VERY desirable and sought after by vinyl collectors.

RECORD & PICTURE SLEEVE #1

• “(JUST LIKE) STARTING OVER” b/w “(JUST LIKE) STARTING OVER” by John Lennon

• This is Geffen Records GEF49604.

• This is a 7-INCH PROMOTIONAL SINGLE.

• “PROMOTION NOT FOR SALE” is printed on both labels

• It has the song in MONO (monaural) on one side and in STEREO on the other side.

• It was released in November of 1980.

• The commercial single of “(JUST LIKE) STARTING OVER” was released with Yoko Ono’s “KISS, KISS, KISS” on the B-side.

• The single reached number one in both the US and UK after Lennon was assassinated on December 8, 1980.

• “(JUST LIKE) STARTING OVER” is very significant, because the song is Lennon's biggest solo hit in the United States. It stayed at #1 for five weeks. Unfortunately, it was Lennon's final single that was released in his lifetime.

• The PICTURE SLEEVE is in NEAR MINT MINUS (NM-) CONDITION with just a few VERY LIGHT/SLIGHT bends/folds on the top flap. There are NO seam splits, NO tears, NO ring wear and NO writing on this sleeve.

• This is the same picture sleeve that was issued for the commercial issues of this 45RPM record.

• The VINYL is in VERY STRONG VG CONDITION with a number of VERY LIGHT/SLIGHT SURFACE hairlines/scuffs. (None of them are “feel-able” at all.) The vinyl has LOTS OF GLOSS!

RECORD & PICTURE SLEEVE #2

• “EVERY MAN HAS A WOMAN WHO LOVES HIM” b/w “EVERY MAN HAS A WOMAN WHO LOVES HIM” by John Lennon

• This is Polydor Records 881 378-7 DJ.

• This is a 7-INCH PROMOTIONAL SINGLE.

• “PROMOTIONAL COPY NOT FOR SALE” is printed on both labels

• It is pressed in STEREO on both sides and was released in October of 1984.

• The commercial single of “EVERY MAN HAS A WOMAN WHO LOVES HIM” was released with “IT’S ALRIGHT” on the B-side.

• The PICTURE SLEEVE is in NEAR MINT MINUS (NM-) CONDITION with a bit of very light aging on the edges and 3 VERY, VERY TINY & SLIGHT indentions on the A-side of the sleeve (that are really unnoticeable and only visible when the sleeve is held at a certain angle.)

• This is the same picture sleeve that was issued for the commercial pressings.

• The VINYL is in NEAR MINT (NM) CONDITION with a very small bit of bubbling on the label next to the play hole.
