In this auction are THREE ORIGINAL JOHN LENNON/YOKO ONO APPLE PICTURE SLEEVES & 45 RPM RECORDS from 1969, 1970 and 1973 in VERY NICE CONDITION. So, please have a look if you want to COLLECT John Lennon or Apple picture sleeves and records or want to UPGRADE the ones you have.

Picture Sleeve & Record #1:

“GIVE PEACE A CHANCE” by John Lennon b/w “REMEMBER LOVE” by Yoko Ono

This is Apple Records 1809.

“MFD BY APPLE…” is in the rim printing on the sliced-apple label.

This picture sleeve and record were released July 7, 1969.

“Give Peace A Chance” is a recording of a live performance of the song that was “recorded in Room 1742, Hotel La Reine Elizabeth, Montreal” (which is printed on the label) during John and Yoko’s “Bed-In for Peace”.

It has become the mantra for the antiwar movement, becoming another of John Lennon’s “signature tunes”.

The PICTURE SLEEVE is in VERY STRONG VG+ CONDITION. There are just a few VERY LIGHT/SLIGHT folds/creases at the top left corner and a few VERY LIGHT/SLIGHT folds/creases on the “flap” near that corner that keep me from automatically grading the sleeve Near Mint. The sleeve is VERY FLAT with NO ring wear, NO tears, NO seam splits and NO writing on it. This glossy B&W sleeve is especially CLEAN!

The VINYL is in NEAR MINT (NM) CONDITION WITH LOTS OF GLOSS. The vinyl was pressed at Capitol’s Scranton plant.

I think “Instant Karma” is really one of John’s best tunes in terms of beat and lyrics. Plus, in the refrains, John’s voice reminds me of the time he pushed his voice to the limit on “Twist & Shout”. Just my opinion...

The PICTURE SLEEVE is in VERY STRONG VG+ CONDITION. Only a few VERY LIGHT/SLIGHT bends/folds on the top flap at the opening keep me from grading the sleeve Near Mint. This sleeve is VERY CLEAN and FLAT.

It’s a REALLY TOUGH primarily white picture sleeve to find without any soiling and/or ring wear!

This picture sleeve/record was released October 31, 1973.

The PICTURE SLEEVE is in VG+ CONDITION. It has light overall wear including a few very light bends/folds (not creases) at the top opening and very light disc impression. The sleeve would probably have graded higher were it not for the small bit of partial ring wear on both sides of the sleeve. (BTW, It’s very hard to find a copy of this sleeve without the forehead ring wear. Many of these picture sleeves have this “forehead” ring wear from being packed 25 to each Apple shipping carton and rubbing together in transit.) The sleeve is mostly flat with NO seam splits, NO tears and NO writing.

The VINYL is in NEAR MINT (NM) CONDITION. The vinyl has LOTS OF GLOSS. It was pressed at Capitol’s Winchester plant.
SO, HERE ARE THREE PICTURE SLEEVES AND RECORDS IN QUITE NICE CONDITION for a new collection or for upgrades in an existing collection!

FYI: I use the COVER/SLEEVE GRADES and RECORD GRADES listed and described on page 8 of the Price Guide for the Beatles American Records. 6th Edition for grading. These grades are Poor (P), Fair (F), Good Minus (G-), Good (G), Good Plus (G+), Very Good Minus (VG-), Very Good (VG), Very Good+ (VG+), Near Mint Minus or Very Good++ (NM- or VG++), Near Mint (NM), Mint Minus (M-), and Mint (M or MT) to VISUALLY GRADE these records and sleeves, so please know the descriptions of these grades before bidding.
