Description
I am continuing to clear out more duplicates of BEATLES and BEATLES-RELATED LPs from my collection. So, please check my other auctions, too.
In this auction:
· “IMAGINE” LP by John Lennon & The Plastic Ono Band (comprised of the following depending on the song: Klaus Voorman, Alan White, Steve Brendel, George Harrison, Nicky Hopkins, Rod Linton, Ted Turner, Rod Linton, John Tout, John Barham, Jim Gordon, King Curtis, and Mike Pinder).
· This LP is Apple Records SW - 3379.
· The LP in this auction was issued September 9, 1971.
The COVER is NEAR MINT and still in its ORIGINAL SHRINK WRAP. There is a tiny push on one corner The COVER is Laminated and there is NO BAR CODE. Also, it is a CARDBOARD COVER. (Later pressings after the Apple pressings were all in issued in poster board covers.)
The VINYL is NEAR MINT. The custom labels have “Mfd. by Apple Records Inc.” printed at the bottom of both labels.
· The custom lyrics/credits die-cut inner paper sleeve that is included also indicates that this is an early pressing, because earlier inner sleeves, like the one in this auction, are missing the copyright information after the songs. (Later sleeves have a Northern Songs copyright after the song lyrics.) The CUSTOM INNER PAPER SLEEVE has NO SPLITS. (It has some aging as you can see from the post card outline on it.)
· This LP was also issued with 1 of 2 PHOTO or POST CARDS that measured 4” x 6”. One photo/post card shows John and Yoko as characters from mythology, with John playing pipes and Yoko as a wood nymph. This is the NEAR MINT photo/post card included in this LP. (The other photo/post card issued in some copies of this LP shows John holding a pig by the ears.)
· This LP was also issued with a 22” x 33” POSTER picturing John at his white piano. It came folded inside the cover. The POSTER is also included and is in NEAR MINT CONDITION.
A GREAT NEAR MINT APPLE RECORDS COPY OF JOHN LENNON’S “IMAGINE” LP FOR SOMEONE’S VINYL COLLECTION! (I think only a still-sealed copy would be better than this one.)
