John Lennon Single "NOBODY TOLD ME" White Label and One Sided Promo ORIGINAL from 1984!!!!

Released on the 9th January 1984!!!! This entered the UK charts on the 21st January 1984 where it reached the Number 6 slot and remained in the charts for a total of 6 weeks!!!!

This was the 15th official single release by John Lennon!!!!

This Track was released as a Preview for the "Milk And Honey" Album which followed 2 weeks later!!!!

When John first Demo'd this song it was called "Everybody's Talkin', Nobody's Talkin'" quite probably inspired by his Great friend Harry Nilsson's hit song of a similar Title!!!!

"Nobody Told Me" was Recorded (but uncompleted) shortly before his Death in 1980, the song was later completed by John's widow Yoko Ono in 1983 and was released as the First single from the album "Milk And Honey" in 1984!!!! The song was later released in the UK in 1990!!!! The song was Originally written for Ringo to include on his 1981 album "Stop And Smell The Roses" but Sadly John Died before the song could be used!!!!

"Nobody Told Me" was John's LAST new single to reach the UK Top 10, peaking at Number 6 (although a reissue of "Imagine" reached Number 3 in December 1999)!!!! The single was also John's LAST US Top 10 Hit, peaking at Number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was his 3rd single to enter the US Top 10 posthumously!!!!

The line "Nobody Told Me There'd Be Days Like These" is in contrast to the old adage "My Mother Told Me There'd Be Days Like These"!!!!

This Promo does NOT have the standard Mother and Stamper Codes and they are as follows!!!!

Side One: On the run out grooves are stamped POSP-700-A3. There are No single numbers but it Does have the letters ARUN and ORLAKE.

Side Two: On the run out grooves there are NO markings.

The above Codes prove this to be one of the Very First First Pressings cut of this highly sought after single!!!! Only a Handfull of these White Label Demos were produced and they were given to "Radio Disc Jockeys", "Record Executives" and EMI Employees to help Promote the sales of each Record!!!! These were NOT FOR SALE and should NOT have got through to the General Public!!!!

CONDITION!!!!

The Pure White Labels to Both Sides: are in Excellent Condition with No signs of Wear or Marks (apart from One tiny dot to side two)!!!! The Vinyl still retains that Gloosy Look and has clearly been Very Well looked after which is reflected in the playback!!!! There are one or two "Tiny" marks showing on the Vinyl when held up to a bright light (though most of these have been caused by handling)!!!! There are no Pops, Clicks or Jumps anywhere!!!! I play graded this on a Linn LP12 Sondek through a Linn System (which is very unforgiving). The Playback was "Superb"!!!! The record lays perfectly Flat with no Warping!!!!

PLEASE NOTE Side 2: Of this single was NOT Recorded on ALL there is, is a Continuous Tone during Playback!!!! 

I would give this Record an overall grade of EXCELLENT!!!!

Please be aware that this Record is for the Label Enthusiast as opposed to the Listening Devotee!!!! These   White  Label Demos do NOT surface Often as once they are in a Collectors possession they as a Rule stay!!!!

This Record comes supplied in a standard white Sleeve!!!!

I like to point out ALL or any Defects so the buyer knows EXACTLY what they are getting. They may sound a little off putting but I can ASSURE you they are tiny in comparison to the "RARITY" of this item. I am expecting a lot of interest in this simply because it is NOT something you will often see for sale. Look on Ebay or ANY Beatles related websites and you will find these Very Difficult to locate!!!!! Awesome!!!!
