READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

I recently took in a large collection of Beatles albums, which range in condition from a nice VG to EX.  They feature labels from first pressing Capitol to Apple through to the purple Capitol label.  I tossed out all the garbage, and will be selling these copies interspersed with my regular inventory for anyone who would like to have great play-copies, but who generally can’t afford the rarer variations for sale.

The vinyl is collectable on these, although the covers may be a bit dirty, and/or split.  Here’s one that’s a great keeper, as well as a solid play copy.

Just one or maybe two light scuff’s difference from an Excellent grade, this is one of the nicer copies I’ve seen in a while. 

“Do You Want to Know a Secret” has a few rotations of white groove, but I did play it, and it barely affects play.

Features the “Chains” songwriting credit error, “Coffin-King” for even more fun!

Vinyl--- VG++/VG++.  VERY nice 90% original shine, both sides.  One or two very light scuffs between the sides, which are not feelable with the fingertip.  White groove on Side 2 is not audible.

Plates--- Both sides feature the machine-stamped “Audio Matrix,” as well as the “URJ” initials hand-etched.  The machine-stamp “ARP” is present, but the stamp is clearly worn down.

Cover--- VG+.  Also one of the nicer covers I’ve seen.  Top and bottom edges have just some very light shelfwear.  Back cover has a light amount of yellowing, not much at all!  All seams are rock solid, NO SPLITS.  And for once, nobody wrote their name on such a nice cover.

Labels--- VG/EX.  Brackets label with the song titles center-justified.  “The Beatles” is above the playhole.  The color green is present in the colorband.  Definitely a genuine pressing.

Both labels have full gloss.  Side 1 has some spindle marks and some bubbling from the label being applied.  Side 2 is Excellent.

Vee Jay Inner Sleeve--- VG. Generic white inner sleeve with no die-cut hole for the labels to show is present.  However, all of the seams have splits of varying lengths.  Sleeve has yellowed, but still presents well.

A rice paper inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Vee Jay inner sleeve en route.

RIAA: N/A

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)
