READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

So with that said…

This week, there are 15 original pressings that other sellers had graded as NM, but fell more into the strong VG+ to Excellent range.  A few really do have NM vinyl.  Those happen to be duplicates in my collection. Covers are mostly “meh.”  Average damage.

I hope there are some treasures for you that will serve as your keepers.  Have a look at them all!

Vinyl--- Excellent.  Both sides retain 95% of their original shine with the exceptions of some extremely light, few and far between lines.  Side 2 has the worst, which is one long, light wisp that you can barely see under normal room lighting.  It will show itself much better under a bare bulb.  See photo.

Plates--- F9/ G8. This copy has the wide 5-pointed star in the dead wax from 1963, as opposed to the more familiar machine-stamped asterisk from 1964, making this a first pressing from Los Angeles.

Cover--- VG.  Structurally solid cover, NO SPLITS.  Front cover has some light spillage on it if tilted toward a light, otherwise, you’ll not see it.  (It might clean off, but I won’t try.)  Some small tear at the bottom mouth on both sides.  Light yellowing and dirtwear from the last 6 decades.

Labels--- NM/ VG.  Side 2 label would also be graded NM, except that it looks like there was sticker removal on the dome logo that has created some small tears.

Capitol Inner Sleeve--- VG.  Original blue Capitol inner sleeve is present.  Nice and flat, bold graphics on both sides.  However, all three seams have splits several inches long.

A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.

RIAA: 6

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
