READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Beatles LP 1966 Beatle-Views SCARCE Mail-Order Only from Kentucky Small Press, EX!

Besides the famous “I Apologize!” 10-inch interview, this is one of the very few interview exclusives to list well into triple digits in the price guides. 

Available to members of a Kentucky magazine in Braille, called “Ring Around the Pops.”

It was issued a total of 3 times, but the very first issue is the rarest.  It features:

*Thick platter, pressed in Nashville.  (Subsequent reissues were pressed into flexible, thinner vinyl stock.)

*One concentric groove close to the playhole.  (Subsequent reissues had two concentric grooves.  One was closer to the outer edge of the label, which was more of a label depression than a groove.)

* “Music City” and “Nashville” stamps in the dead wax.  (Subsequent reissues had just the “Nashville” stamp.)

*Yellow vinyl copies are a much later reissue.

This disc features John’s apology for his remarks about The Beatles being more pop than Jesus, and then it follows them on their controversial and final 1966 tour in America.

The standout exclusive on this disc is a live field recording in which the stage gets mobbed by an angry crowd while The Beatles are playing.  John, Paul and George unplug and flee the stage, but Ringo is unable to get away in time.  The live reporter struggles to keep his commentary up with the actions on the stage.

This segment has not been heard or re-released since.

Vinyl--- EX/EX.  Full gloss on stiff vinyl.  Occasional light and little marks only.  Beautiful copy!

Plates--- Both “Music City” and “Nashville (something indiscernible) stamps are present in the dead wax.

Cover--- VG+.  Cover is factory-reinforced by wide masking tape, preventing the seams from damage, and indeed, there are NO SEAM SPLITS.  Light to moderate dirtwear.  Address label affixed to the top left corner of the back cover.

Labels--- EX/EX.  One stray ghost-spindle mark per side.

Inner Sleeve--- VG.  Generic white inner sleeve with no die-cut hole for the labels to show is present.  Sleeve has yellowed over time, and it has a 1 ½-inch bottom center seam split.  Nice, flat sleeve.

A new generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original inner sleeve en route.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)
