READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

Beatles LP 1969 Abbey Road First Pressing Japan Starter Red Vinyl, EX Packaging, No OBI

Not having a turntable, I can’t rightfully describe the playback, except to say that these first pressings out of Japan are famous for playback that far exceeds how the vinyl looks.  Looks like a noisy play, though.

All the packaging is in EX condition.  If I had the patience to look for a replacement NM disc, I’d have a stunning keeper.

Vinyl--- VG-.  Lots of light to moderate scratches on both sides, one scuff on side 1 that can be felt with the fingertip.  Had it not been for the scuff, this copy would be VG.  My seller listed it as EX, but it’s far from it.  I didn’t want to send it back to Japan, so I’ll sell it as a nice starter copy instead.

Plates--- YEX-749 S1/ YEX-750 S1.  And yes, the machine-stamped circle with the squiggly is present on both sides.

Cover--- EX.  Very nice cover!  Original 1969 cover, made with thick, heavy cardboard, as opposed to the 1970’s and onward flimsy, high gloss cover. The only issue is that the spine has some worn-off slick.  See photo.

Lyric Sheet--- EX.  Nice, flat sheet, has yellowed lightly over the decades.  I always look forward to the screwy translations on these sheets.  I’ve only provided a couple of spoilers, so as not to ruin all your fun!

Labels--- VG+/ VG+.  Some very light spindle marks, not many.

Apple Inner Sleeve--- Original black Apple inner sleeve is present, and in EX condition.  NO SPLITS.

A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Apple inner sleeve en route.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
