READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

I took in a large collection of Beatles albums this week, which range in condition from a nice VG to EX.  They feature labels from first pressing Capitol to Apple through to the purple Capitol label.  I tossed out all the garbage, and will be selling these copies interspersed with my regular inventory for anyone who would like to have great play-copies, but who generally can’t afford the rarer variations for sale.

This copy was one of the standouts from this collection.  LP looks dangerously close to how it would have looked brand new in 1969.  Los Angeles, being the mother plant delivers the best sound quality of the three plants that were pressing LP’s back then.

If you need a copy from LA, this is going to be your keeper.

Vinyl--- EX/EX.  Among both sides there are maybe 2 or 3 extremely light angel hairs that barely draw attention to themselves.  Side 2 has what looks like a very light smudge that might clean off.  I didn’t try.

Plates--- F2/F1.  Machine-stamped asterisk in the dead wax makes this copy pressed in Los Angeles.

Cover--- VG+.  Presents as EX.  But the back cover has mild record outdent, front cover has a light impression of something having been written on a sheet of paper that was placed on top of this cover.  Reflect it in the light to find it.  Also two horizontal lines extremely light that look like razor blade slices.  Those are also barely noticeable unless you look.

NO SPLIT SEAMS.

Labels--- NM/NM.  Both labels look absolutely brand newly-printed.  NO SPINDLE MARKS.

Capitol Inner Sleeve--- VG.  Generic white inner sleeve with no die-cut hole for the labels to show is present.  Presents as EX, except that one side seam and the bottom seam have center splits.

A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.

RIAA: N/A

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
