READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

So with that said…

This week’s auctions will focus on the “Subsidiary of…” Apple labels from The Beatles’ catalogue, pressed in 1968 and 1969.

Beatles LP 1969 Apple Sgt. Pepper “Subsidiary of…” Label, NM!

Vinyl--- NM/NM.  Both sides look completely unplayed.  Full 100% gloss!

Plates--- F21/H20.  Machine-stamped asterisk in the dead wax makes this copy pressed in Los Angeles.

Cover--- VG+.  Bright, bold colors.  Only light ringwear to front and back covers.  Light shelfwear to top and bottom seams.  NO SPLITS.  VERY nice cover!

Gatefold--- EX.  Bright and bold colors.  This is the only gatefold that points out clearly that the top left panel is supposed to be yellow, and the top right panel is supposed to be red.  NO CENTER SPLITS.

Insert--- EX.  You might as well call it NM.  Superflat, razor-sharp corners.  Full color, NO FINGER DIVOTS!  Slightly yellowed on the reverse side.

Looks pretty brand new!

Labels--- NM/NM.  Both labels look 1969-brand new.  NO SPINDLE MARKS.

Capitol Inner Sleeve--- Generic white inner sleeve with die-cut hole for the labels to show.

A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.

RIAA: N/A.

If you’re still building your collection of the “Subsidiary of…” catalogue of titles, there will be no upgrade needed.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
