READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

I recently took in a large collection of Beatles albums, which range in condition from a nice VG to EX.  They feature labels from first pressing Capitol to Apple through to the purple Capitol label.  I tossed out all the garbage, and will be selling these copies interspersed with my regular inventory for anyone who would like to have great play-copies, but who generally can’t afford the rarer variations for sale.

The vinyl is collectable on these, although the covers may be a bit dirty, and/or split.  Here’s one that’s a great, solid play copy.

If you’ve gotten outbid on that NM copy, this is still a great play copy that will allow you to own and hear the alternate version of “I’m Only Sleeping,” with the extra backwards lead guitar, as well as the alternate mix of “And Your Bird Can Sing,” with the drums and tambourine in the center of the mix, instead of the right channel.

This copy has a commercially-issued cover, so the original has probably fallen apart, and was replaced by this one.

Vinyl--- VG/VG+.  Side 1 has a lot of very light scratches, none of which can be felt with the fingertip.  Side 2 has far less.  Still lots of gloss per side.

Plates--- A1/A1.  Refreshed plates.  Record Club issues had no Capitol insignias, but they did have the distinctive numeral “8” inserted into the catalogue number in the dead waxes on both sides.  Those are present.

Cover--- VG.  Front cover has a name written in blue ballpoint at the top right.  Moderate wear at the bottom.  Back cover has light to moderate yellowing, not bad.  Bottom seam has a 2-inch split at the mouth.  Spine slick has crackled halfway down, but the spine hasn’t split…yet.

Labels--- NM/EX.  Side 1 label looks 1969-brand new.  Side 2 label has just a few very short, very light spindle marks.  Full-bodied colors, full heavy gloss.

Capitol Inner Sleeve--- VG. Generic white inner sleeve with die-cut hole for the labels to show is present.  Sleeve presents well, but one side seam is split about four inches.  Bottom seam has a small center seam split.  Sleeve has moderately yellowed.

A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)
