The Beatles – ‘Let It Be’, UK UNPLAYED (or PLAYED ONCE) 1st issue non-box set, dating to the initial release date of 6th November 1970
For completists this 1st issue non box set is an essential part of any Beatles collection.
Ultra-rare investment grade vinyl.
This controversial release which ultimately led to the break up of the Beatles differs greatly from the 2003 release of Let It Be - Naked. There is of course the controversial string section and choir on a Long and Winding Road, brought in at the behest of Phil Spector and against McCartney’s wishes. There is Lennon’s Dig It and Maggie Mae which were left off the 2003 version; but this version unlike the 2003 version has its moments and Phil Spector was given a difficult task with the tapes he had been given in a pre-digital age.
Whether one prefers the later version or this one is to miss the point; this is the version that went out whilst the Beatles were still together, and if not with the blessing of Paul McCartney certainly with the blessings of Messrs Lennon, Harrison and Star. The greatest musical force of the twentieth century had finally come to an end.
Happy Bidding and good luck!

CONDITION
Disc
Visual: MINT-
Beautiful shop fresh vinyl which is unmarked, even under prolonged inspection under severe halogen light nothing is revealed other than ultra faint factory micro marks. A whisker away from an all out MINT grade. This heavy duty vinyl lies 100% flat on the turntable.
Labels: MINT-
Stunning set of shop fresh labels.
Audio: MINT-
A very careful play check confirmed that the audio is undamaged. There is some light static/surface noise in places consistent with a record which has never been played or has remained unplayed for a long period of time.
Cover
MINT-
Due to its extremely light construction this is one of the toughest covers of all Beatles releases to find. With it’s very narrow spine and thinner card most Let It Be covers have not survived well, if at all. This cover is in quite remarkable condition (now 45 years old) and is in the same condition that it left the factory back in 1970. There are some laminate creases around the edges but these have clearly been done during manufacture. A stunning example and ultimate upgrade.
Inner-sleeve EXCELLENT+
