READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

This week, there are some of the hardest-to-find and some unconfirmed Apple label variations for sale.  Happy hunting!

Beatles LP 1975 Meet the Beatles “All Rights” LA HYBRID Labels in Shrink, EX/VG+!

If you’re a seasoned Beatles labels collector, you know that regarding the “All Rights” run, there were LA pressings with the disclaimer on bright green labels out of LA that had the disclaimer on two lines, either at the top or bottom of the label.  Those copies had the disclaimer on five lines on the Side 2 label, usually in one of the corners of the label.

You also know that there was a second label variation that had the disclaimer on two lines, semi-circularly at the bottoms of both labels below the Apple.  While LA made use of them both (and Winchester made use of the second variation), these two label variations were never seen on the same album.

Until this copy.

Vinyl--- EX/VG+.  Side 1 has just a few extremely light lines in a sea of high gloss.  But Side 2 looks like it was improperly cleaned.  It has a lot of very light angel hair swipe marks that shouldn’t affect play, but looks slightly unsightly.

Plates--- H17/H16.  Machine-stamped asterisk in the dead wax makes this copy pressed in Los Angeles.

Cover--- EX/VG+. 

Front cover looks very close to new.  Just a tiny amount of ringwear and record outdent.  Cool little printing error has some extra blue ink next to Ringo’s ear.

Back cover has some light foxing at the edges, and has yellowed a little.  Inside of the cover has something blacked out with Magic Marker or Sharpie, depending on when it was done.  Also, you can detect a faint musty odor if you fan the inside cover under your nose.  Not bad, though.

All seams are muscular-strong, NO SPLIT SEAMS.

Labels--- EX/EX.  Side 1 label is the bright yellow LA label, Side 2 label is the banana green/yellow label.  Each label has just a light wisp spindle mark, maybe two, that are barely perceptible.

Capitol Inner Sleeve--- VG.  Inner sleeve is yellowed from the years, and has a 2-inch bottom seam split.

A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.

RIAA: 18

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
