The Beatles –Help!– Genuine 1965 1st UK mono pressing with yellow & black Parlophone labels and ‘Sold in UK…’ label text and the ultra rare MT tax code, catalogue number PMC 1255
A superb copy with outstanding audio dating to the inital release date of 6th August 1965.
Matrix numbers: XEX 549-2 & XEX 550-2N (Please note – 1N was not used on any mono 1st press Help! issue)

Visual: Side 1 – EXCELLENT+ Side 2 – EXCELLENT-
A well preserved copy which retains a superb rainbow sheen in strong daylight. Side one is unmarked and under a bright halogen desk light reveals no further marks other than the faintest of whispy sleeve removal marks. Side 2 has received more plays and under a strong halogen desk light reveals some superficial and light surface marks none of which are feelable or interefere with the music. The heavy duty vinyl lies 100% flat on the turntable.
Audio: EXC+/ nr MINT
A stunning sounding copy with little to no surface noise audible between tracks. Amazing clarity throughout with absolutely no groovewear or distrortion to any of the music signals. Tracks such as ‘The Night Before’ and ‘You’ve Got to Hide your Love way’ have great analogue richness and detail. The easily damaged ‘Yesterday’ is distortion free with no noticeable surface noise on the run in or during the track. The easily damaged and final track ‘Dizzy Miss Lizzy’ which on most copies has some distortion plays perfectly and is distortion free. There are no pops or tick and the record does not jump or stick.
Labels: EXCELLENT+
A great set of labels with only a few faint spindle trails to each label. Side 1 carries the ultra rare MT tax code. There is no writing to either label.

EXCELLENT+
Original 1st issue Help! covers are becoming increasingly difficult to find in such wonderful condition. Most have not weathered well and look soiled or dirty. This one however whilst not in Mint condition is not too far from its original shop condition. The back panel is free from any writing and shows only minimal signs of ageing. The front panel has some faint thumbnail creasing towards the opening edge and there is some slight bruising to the bottom two corners. The spine is uncrushed and intact as are all the flipbacks. All in all a very nice cover.
