The Beatles –Help!– Genuine 1965 UK 1st mono pressing on the yellow & black Parlophone label with ‘Sold in UK…’ label text, catalogue number PMC 1255. Dating to the original release date of 6th August 1965. 

Possibly the most underated Beatles albums that there is. An absolute classic with tracks such as, Help!, You’ve Got to Hide You’re Love Away, I’ve Just Seen a Face and many more!

A truly excellent copy with superb dynamic audio.


Matrix numbers: XEX 549-2 & XEX 550-2 (Please note – 1 was not used on any mono 1st press Help! issue)

Stamper codes: 4,8/GMO & 1,8/GPA

CONDITION

Disc

Visual: EXCELLENT-

Side one has some superficial scuff marks visible in daylight, although non are feelable or effect play; side one grades at or around excellent minus. Side two has some light superficial non feelable marks and grades at or around excellent. There are no feelable marks or marks which could be described as scratches. The vinyl lies 100% flat on the turntable.  

Labels: EXCELLENT

There are spindle trails to both labels but no spindle wear or any other wear to the labels. Side two carries the KT tax code. There is no writing or personalization to any label.

Audio: EXCELLENT+

Overall superb audio. There is some occasional surface noise with the occasional light tick but there is no distortion or noticeable groovewear. Tracks such as ‘You’ve got to Hide your Love Away’, ‘Another Girl’ & ‘I’ve Just Seen a Face’ play superbly. The vinyl does not jump or stick.

Cover

EXCELLENT

An original 1st issue patents pending Garrod & Lofthouse cover dating to the original release date of August 6th 1965. The front panel shows very little signs of handling. The rear panel is clean and shows very little signs of ageing. There is no writing to any part of the cover. All flipbacks are strong and intact. A very well preserved cover and severely graded at excellent; now extremely tough to find in this condition.

Inner-sleeve Excellent-

Original and correct Emitex rice paper inner with no writing or seam splits.
