Imagine – John Lennon UK 1st pressing 1971 – Cat no. PAS10004. - 1U first press matrices. Complete with original poster, postcard & inner.
Unplayed MINT condition; outstanding investment grade quality.
One of Lennon’s seminal works as a solo artist. Imagine was mainly recorded at his home at Tittenhurst Park in May 1971.
By far the finest copy I have ever come across; stunning mint vinyl and labels, ultra-rare in this condition. Carries the very first - 1U matrix with early stampers from the initial release date in October 1971 - disc cutting signatures by Porky and Pecko.
Matrix numbers: YEX 865-1U & YEX 866-1U
Stamper codes: 1/MP (Porky) & 2/RD (Pecko)

Visual: MINT
Stunning MINT vinyl in the condition it left the factory. The heavy duty vinyl lies 100% flat on the turntable.
Labels: MINT
Superb flawless labels with no writing to any label.
Audio: MINT-
One very careful playcheck revealed stunning and unworn audio. I did detect a touch of light surface noise at high volume in some passages although this is to be expected after 40+ years of storage. Needless to say the record does not jump or stick.

EXC+ / MINT-
The sleeve to Imagine is notoriously flimsy and susceptible to wear, this cover is in outstanding condition.
POSTER: MINT
Totally unmarked and as fresh as the day it left the factory back in 1971. When I photographed it for this listing it became clear that this was the first time it had been unfolded.

Original 1971 inner with some natural ageing.
