READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning. I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.
Beatles LP Magical Mystery Tour 1968 Apple with Capitol Logo and Refreshed Plates, NM!

Similar to last week’s “Help!” album, “Magical Mystery Tour” also had an incredibly rare first pressing with an “ST” error catalogue number in the dead wax, as opposed to the corrected “SMAL” prefix. However, the only copy I’d seen had “W” plates. This copy has refreshed plates with that same error having been corrected with an etched-over correct catalogue number.
I suspect that there was never a true refreshed plate with the “ST” prefix from 1968, because I’ve not been able to ever find one. Therefore, I think these plates were originally prepared with the scratched-over error to begin with.
Here’s a copy that’s absolutely stunning beautiful.
Vinyl--- NM/NM. Both sides shine like brand new.
Plates--- B8/A9. Letter “O” in the dead wax on both sides makes this copy pressed in Jacksonville.
Cover--- VG. Front and back covers have light dirtwear. Both inside panels have moderately yellowed. Booklet is complete, but has become detached. NO SPLIT SEAMS.
Labels--- NM/NM. Both labels look like they were printed up just this morning over coffee. NO SPINDLE MARKS.
Inner Sleeve--- EX. Generic white inner sleeve with die-cut hole for the labels to show is present. Had this sleeve not have yellowed, it would have been a NM inner sleeve. NO SPLIT SEAMS.
A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original inner sleeve en route.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up. Thanks!)
