READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning. I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.
Beatles LP Magical Mystery Tour 1969 Hybrid Labels, 2 Straight Transfers, EX/NM!
I’ve never seen this happen before. This copy has two labels of different font layouts, and each one is a straight transfer from previous labels.
Side 1 is a green Capitol label, which has the thick ballooned type lettering first pressing black Capitol Jacksonville labels. The only difference is that the first title that’s above the playhole on the black Capitol label has been moved to the first title below the playhole.
The Side 2 label is a straight transfer from the 1968 Los Angeles black Capitol “Subsidiary of…” label. The only difference is that the loosely-spaced word, “STEREO” has been shifted to the furthest left of the label on the Green Capitol copy.
Vinyl--- EX/NM. Side 1 has two extremely light scuffs from the pressing plant that cannot be felt by the fingertip on Side 1. Otherwise, both sides look completely unplayed.
Plates--- B8/B14. Hand-etched letter “O” in the dead wax on both sides makes this copy pressed in Jacksonville.
Cover--- VG+. Front and back covers have just a little dirtwear, not much. They still look pretty nice. Top seam has small dents, maybe three of them. Spine has the small Capitol logo next to the catalogue number that has no “SMAL” prefix. This is the appropriate late 60’s cover for the green Capitol and early Apple pressings. NO SEAM SPLITS.
Gatefold--- EX. Slight yellowing around the edges of the inside panels. Barely any dirtwear at all. Book is still attached. NO CENTER SEAM SPLITS.
Labels--- NM/NM. Store stock new-looking labels. Side 1 label has some really cool bleedprint from the purple circle. Never saw that to this extent before.
Capitol Inner Sleeve--- VG. Generic white inner sleeve with no die-cut hole for the labels to show is present. Sleeve has moderate amount of light wrinkles, plus some creases from improper insertion at the factory. Only light yellowing. Sleeve would have graded an easy VG+, except for a half-inch seam split on just one side.
A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.

**If you have a section in your collection for anomalous pressings, this one belongs in it. If not, this copy is a GREAT way to start one. Let’s see another one of these if you don’t believe me.**
As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up. Thanks!)
