A FEW ITEMS FROM MY A-LIST THIS WEEK, ALONG WITH MORE UNPLAYED ALBUMS FROM THE COLLECTION.
READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning. I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.
So with that said…
Beatles LP Meet the Beatles! 1963 First Pressing STEREO, NO PUBLISHING CREDITS!
Now, who would I be insulting if I had to describe how rare this album is? All of us, right? Well, for those unfamiliar, the stereo copies of this pressing are ten times more rare than the mono copies, and the mono copies are NOT common at all.
Vinyl--- VG+ under normal room lighting, strong VG under interrogation under the bare bulb. Visually looks pretty nice!
Plates--- A3/ A3. Scranton.
Cover--- Very nice. Muscular-strong seams and spine all around. NO SPLITS. Front cover has the brown lettering “BEATLES!” Very little wear, presents beautifully.
Back cover has some dirtwear and a stain to the right side, near the spine. Has moderate dirtwear and yellowing as well. NO GEORGE MARTIN CREDIT to the bottom left back cover makes this the original and appropriate cover for this LP.
Seams are fully intact, but they have very slight shelfwear in isolated spots. It’s so light that it doesn’t in the least affect the integrities of the seams.
Labels--- NM/ EX. The specs on the labels in the photos aren’t dust. They are reflections off the glossy sparkling labels. Both labels retain the old-style darker blue Capitol domes that were redefined in 1964.
Capitol Inner Sleeve--- Darker blue-green Capitol inner sleeve is present, and in really nice condition. The only issue is a small ½ inch center split to the bottom seam.
A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.
RIAA: 3
As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up. Thanks!)
Note: All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment.
CAUTION! There has been a startling increase in bidders canceling their bids. A word to the wise, I have started blocking any and all bidders who retract their bids regardless of the reason.
Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!
(Please note: Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized. The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle. Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix? Thanks!)
