CONDITION : Note : Vacuum-machine cleaned and fully played on a quality system to assist accurate grading.

VINYL :  Great lead-in both sides. No expectant loud hiss or clicks .. depending on your set-up you may pick-up a minor lead-in blip though I wouldn’t call it an issue … more of an amber light for the opening track that is about to kick in. The usual dead-wax noise between tracks here is virtually non-existent (amazing !) .. well for my ancient ears anyway. Very difficult to find a fault worthy of mention on this gem. Kudos to the one-time previous owners’ passion in that respect.

Glossy throughout both sides. Has attracted a couple of very small light / hairline marks detectable under a bright light though again I struggled to pick anything other than the purity of playback which delivers tremendous listening pleasure.

Obviously lightly played which is a bonus considering it’s 50 years old AND the Fab Four’s debut album. The sweet Mono playback on this thick platter is a simply outstanding with the audio quality rated a strong EX+.

LABELS :  Bright clean print. A few and light spindle traces each side though not obtrusive.  No other marks, writing etc and very pleasing all round.

SLEEVE : These early Australian issues for this album were generally flimsy and were a magnet for ring wear as well as very susceptible to seam splits and general ageing much quicker than usual. The cover here is happily an exception to the rule and the cleanest example I can recall for ages. One small and minor mark at the center lower seam under the word ‘and’ as per 2nd last photo. Otherwise …no writing, marks or splits and the spine is intact with 2 minor creases near the middle as per the last photo above. The entry edges are near flawless.

Very light ring-wear .. typically on the upper & lower front and understandable more noticeable on the predominantly white back .. though only mild.

The corners are square and the fold-over flaps perfect. No print fade and probably don’t get much better for this issue I would think.

**** Recommended for someone looking for an upgrade or simply a schmick copy as this one is definitely a keeper.
