Beatles LP Rubber Soul Apple NO “MFD. BY APPLE RECORDS, INC.” DISCLAIMER EITHER SIDE
Not many collectors know that there was an incredibly brief period of time when Beatles albums on the Apple label were pressed with no “Mfd. By Apple, Inc.” disclaimer on either side of the record. These were not errors, although some copies are hybrids. I have been able to verify eight titles so far, in addition to Lennon’s “Mind Games” LP. There are certainly more, I’ve just not found them in 40 years of collecting and researching.
This copy is a Winchester pressing.
Vinyl--- Beautiful-looking vinyl. Would be NM, except for a manufacturer’s defect on Side 1, which does not affect play.
Plates--- H17/ W18
Cover--- Structurally solid, very strong cover. NO split seams or spine, muscular sturdy. Light dirtwear to back cover, bottom, none on the front cover. Slightly yellowed white border. A great-looking cover!
Labels--- Side 1 label has extremely light spindle marks that you will only find by tilting it toward a light source. Side 2 label is NM. Hybrid labels, side 1 is a Winchester, dark label with gloss, Side 2 label is an LA flat-textured label. NEITHER bears the “Mfd. By Apple Records, Inc.” disclaimer!
Capitol Inner Sleeve--- Generic white inner sleeve with the die-cut hole to show the labels.
RIAA: None.
This label variation is to date, undocumented by all of the great source books. Several titles exist, but are so very hard to find. Start your collection of these now, or add to the ones you may already have. But don’t expect to find another one soon.
Note: All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment.

(Please note: Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized. The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle. Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix? Thanks!)
As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up. Thanks!)
