Beatles LP "SONGS, PICTURES AND STORIES" - Vee Jay Records (Version 2) - LP-1092 (Mono). Rare BLOCK Label (Black Background with Block Style Silver Lettering)!
This was an attempt by Vee Jay to repackage the "INTRODUCING THE BEATLES" LP. Vinyl records found with this 2/3 Gatefold Outer Jacket, were typically the Version 2 variation with "PLEASE, PLEASE ME" and "ASK ME WHY" instead of the Version 1 variation which originally listed "LOVE ME DO and "P.S. I LOVE YOU". Although it was originally thought that Version 1 discs were slipped into these unique and colorful covers, only a handful have shown up over time.
Since no record is perfect unless SEALED, this Vinyl has typical very minor scuffs but by most standards is still EXCELLENT (really hard to find these in Absolutely MINT condition). The outer jacket is also EXCELLENT with no splitting and surprisingly little ring wear for this jacket. For a record issued in early 1964, this one is as good as you will find these days unless you find one unopened!
In any case, you will be hard pressed to find one of these with the RARE "BLOCK" Style VEE JAY label very often. Very collectible and quite valuable to any BEATLES fan!
