The Beatles – White Album - Original 1968 UK stereo 1st pressing with original top opening numbered sleeve, dark green Apple labels and ‘Sold in UK…’ label text dating to the original release date of 22nd November 1968.
Matrix numbers: YEX 709-1, YEX 710-1 & YEX 711-1, YEX 712-1
Stamper codes: 4/OH, 3/GAT & 1/MH (first mother) 6/HP

Visual:
Disc 1: Side one EXCELLENT+ Side two EXCELLENT-
Side one appears MINT and unmarked when viewed in strong daylight. When viewed under a halogen desklight some light and superficial handling marks become visible. Side two has two scuff marks visible in daylight but are superficial and do not effect the audio.
Disc 2: Side three VERY GOOD+ Side four EXC+ to MINT-
Side three has some light scuffing marks on the right side of the record, however, they do not effect play. Side four appears completely unmarked when viewed in strong daylight even under a strong halogen desklight nothing much more is revealed. Side four grades at or around near MINT.
Both discs lay 100% flat on the turntable.
Labels: EXC+ to MINT-
A superb set of dark green Apple labels carrying the ‘Sold in UK…’ label text dating to the original release date of 1968. All labels appear fresh and unworn and show only a minimum of spindle trails. Side 4 has the KT tax code. There is no writing or personalization to any label.
Audio:
Disc 1: EXCELLENT+ Disc 2: EXCELLENT+
Very little groove wear or distortion to the music signals. Apart from some occasional surface noise and light static in places both disc one and disc two play through superbly. The easily damaged track Julia plays particularly well. There are no loud pops or ticks and the record does not jump or stick. The heavy duty vinyl lies 100% flat on the turntable.
Cover
EXCELLENT
An original 1968 1st issue top opening numbered sleeve in truly excellent condition (no. 0387332). The cover still retains its original rigidity; white album covers of this vintage have a tendency to go ‘floppy’. There is some light corner wear to the bottom right on the front panel but other than this all corners to this gatefold are sharp and undamaged. The interior gatefold is in pristine condition. The spine has the usual laminate flaking but is uncrushed. Other than some light yellowing around the edges this sleeve is in superb condition.
Inner-sleeves EXCELLENT-
Original 1968 black inners.
Photos EXCELLENT
An original set of photos positively dating to 1968 and in excellent condition. McCartney photo has a corner crease (exc-). There is no writing, pin holes or tape marks to any photo.
Poster EXCELLENT
There are no pin holes or tape marks. The Garrod & Lofthouse credit is absent so I’m unable to confirm that it dates to the original release.
