Let It Be Canadian Box Set (SOAL-6351)

Originally titled "Get Back", Let It Be was the final release by The Beatles, although it was recorded before Abbey Road. The original idea was to record an album "Live", with no overdubs or studio trickery, "getting back" to the basics, warts and all. The sessions were a chore, however, and the project was shelved. The Beatles moved on to record Abbey Road, their final recording before the split. The Let It Be project was resurrected following Abbey Road's release. American producer Phil Spector was brought in to salvage the project, the result of which is this album. A film of the same name was also released, the highlight of which is the legendary rooftop concert, the Beatles final live performance.

Offered here is the Canadian Box Set of Let It Be, including the Get Back book, the Let It Be album, and the outer slipcover box. The inner tray that holds the book is NOT included in this set.

Now, the particulars. The "Get Back" book is Near Mint!!! It appears to have never been opened, with no creases, folds tears, or markings of any sort. There is a slight bit of laminate lift on the front near the spine, which is common for these books. The pages are all attached, and the Paste Over credit list is intact and as new. A truly excellent copy of this book

The outer slip case is in VG condition. There are no tears or creases. There is some minor corner and edge wear, and there is a small number 33 written in the top left corner of the John Lennon photo. This is why I grade this outer cover as VG.

The actual album sleeve is VG as well, with the same small number 33 written in the same spot on the Lennon photo. Otherwise, the sleeve is intact, with minor corner and opening edge wear. The spine is straight and clean, with all writing clear and crisp.

The vinyl is superb!! Nice, heavy vinyl and clearly handled carefully. Has the Bell Sound stamper. Side one has a couple of hairlines, and a minor scuff, neither of which affect the play, and is otherwise in beautiful condition. Side two also has a couple of minor hairlines visible. Very clean. Rate the vinyl at Excellent minus!!

The labels are pristine, with only a couple of spindle marks on side two, visible only under bright light. The dark green Apple label is like new!! Beautiful!! Grade the labels as Excellent plus!

While I have purchased a number of items on e-bay, I am a new seller, with this being my second item offered. I am an avid Beatle fan, and have graded this record honestly, and to the best of my abilities, using the Rare Record Collector Price Guide (2004) grading system as my reference.
