Description

THE BEATLES - LET IT BE

1970 UK PXS 1 *BOX SET*

This set comprises all 100% original components and appears here as it was purchased by its original owner in 1970.

Outer Slipcase

EXCELLENT -

A very clean, strong and in-shape example which retains its high-gloss finish to both panels with no heavy creasing or wear. There are a few small indentations to the left of John's microphone and a 2cm repaired tear to the right of George's portrait. However, all the edges are clean and sharp with just a few small 'pushes', but no further damage or wear.

Trays

Outer: VERY GOOD +

Clean & strong and still in-shape with just the inevitable handling wear to the exposed sides but no tears or any other damage to any of the fold-over flaps.

Inner: EXCELLENT

This most delicate component is completely intact & in-shape, with just a single a tear to one of the corners where the book sat and tiny stresses to the others. However, none have torn completely through and all of the inner panels are totally undamaged. All of the fragile thin fold-over edges are undamaged.

Book

EXCELLENT +

A superb, possibly unread & fully intact copy with clean & glossy panels which display no heavy creasing or wear. There is slight lifting to the laminate along the front of the spine but the spine itself is un-cracked and uworn. Inside, all pages are present with none that are missing, damaged or loose.

LP Record

Is housed in a fully laminated, 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed cover with a red Apple logo on the reverse.

Complete with original crisp white 'Patent No. 1,125,555' inner-sleeve.

Matrix numbers: YEX 773-2U & YEX 774-2U

Stamper numbers: 1,7/TL & 4/GRA

Disc weight: 155g

LP CONDITION

Labels: EXCELLENT +

A few light spindle trails but no other signs of wear.

Visual: EXCELLENT

Both surfaces are extremely clean & glossy with the only blemishes visible in strong daylight being a tiny 1mm mark on side 1 at the beginning of track 2 and two insignificant light surface marks on side 2. Close examination directly beneath my halogen desk lamp reveals nothing more than a few wispy hairlines and a sparkling rainbow gloss shine.

Play: EXCELLENT +

This disc has received little play and all tracks play cleanly and clearly with no traces of groove/play wear. My careful playcheck at volume uncovered only a few soft ticks at the begining of 'I Dig A Pony' but no other significant or major audible distractions.

LP Cover

EXCELLENT

A really fine example with clean & glossy panels which bear just the unavoidable faint disc impression, but apart from that, there really is little else to fault. All corners are square & unbruised & both opening edges and sharp and undamaged. Both seams and the spine are perfectly smooth, unstressed and completely undamaged.

Inner-sleeve

EXCELLENT

Clean, white & flat with just minor handling & storagewear but no writing, tears or splits.
