Original UK "Get Back" Book

Red/Green Apple on back cover of LP

Side 1 Matrix - YEX 773 - 3U

Side 2 Matrix - YEX 773 - 2U

Originally titled "Get Back", Let It Be was the final release by The Beatles, although it was recorded before Abbey Road. The original idea was to record an album "Live", with no overdubs or studio trickery, "getting back" to the basics, warts and all. The sessions were a chore, however, and the project was shelved. The Beatles moved on to record Abbey Road, their final recording before the split. The Let It Be project was resurrected following Abbey Road's release. American producer Phil Spector was brought in to salvage the project, the result of which is this album. A film of the same name was also released, the highlight of which is the legendary rooftop concert, the Beatles final live performance.

Offered here are two components of the UK Box Set of Let It Be, including the "Get Back" book, and the "Let It Be" album.

Now, the particulars.

The "Get Back" book is in VG+ condition. It appears to have been opened and read a few times, but there are no creases, folds, or markings of any sort. There is a minor (1 cm) tear on the first page. The pages show signs of having been leafed though, but nothing serious at all. The pages are all attached with no pages missing. Upon opening the book, the cover has become unattached at the spine, but is still attached at the back (a very common and easily repaired idiosyncracy of this book). As well, there is some wear on the cover, right at the spine, and some minimal edge and corner wear. The lettering on the spine is all clear and sharp, and the back cover is free of defects. All in all, a very good copy of this book.

The laminated, Garrod and Lofthouse album sleeve is VG as well. There is some creasing along the very top, and two minor laminate creases bottom left, but these really are minor. The spine is clean and all writing is clear and unscuffed. There is a bit of minimal corner and opening edge wear. The back cover is clean, with only 1 small laminate crease at the top. The Green/Red apple logo is clear and bright. A nice, VG+ example of this classic cover.

The Vinyl is Excellent!! Apart from a couple of really minor hairlines, and a few very wispy scuffs, I see very little evidence of this having been played! Both sides of this record are in the same condition. Beautiful!!! The vinyl has a lovely sheen, clearly having been cared for!!! Grade the vinyl Excellent to both sides!!

The lovely dark green (Side 1) and "sliced apple" (Side 2) labels are Excellent!! I see no writing, tears, scuffs or anything! Beautiful!! There are a couple of really faint spindle marks on both sides, but these really are negligible, and only visible by tilting the record at an angle. Great examples of these labels!!!

The record comes with a plain white inner, which is in excellent condition, with no tears or splits.

There you have it. A really nice 2 piece set of the UK "Let It Be" album and "Get Back" book!!! Good luck!!!

While I have purchased a number of items on e-bay, I am a new seller. I am an avid Beatle (and Kate Bush!) fan, and have graded this record honestly, and to the best of my abilities, using the Rare Record Collector Price Guide (2004) grading system as my reference. If you are unhappy in any way with your purchase, I will promptly refund your money, no questions asked. As well, I will ship anywhere in the world, but will have to quote a shipping fee specific to the buyer's location.

Thank you for looking. I'll have more items in the days ahead. Beatle on!!!!
