EXTREMELY RARE! Original Canadian Capitol pressing. First Capitol pressing of a Beatles record! This is a 2nd issue. Matrix number in the trail-off area on the A-side reads 7XCE-17144-2. Matrix number on the B-side reads 7XCE-17145-2. Strong NM condition on this one. Vinyl exhibits no visible marks, and looks and sounds like it has never been played. Slight shelf-wear visible along the high ridge in the orange printed areas on both sides.

An original first issue pressing of this single in this condition will easily fetch $2500.00 and there are less than 200 copies known to exist! The only difference of the 1st issue pressing and this 2nd issue pressing is the sleeve and the matrix numbers. 1st issues will read 7XCE-17144 and 7XCE-17145, minus the -2 which was added to the second issue.

This record is extremely vital to The Beatles history as it is the very first ever record attributed and titled to "The Beatles" in North America, and was issued a full 16 days prior to the release of the U.S. Vee-Jay 498 single "Please Please Me". First issued on February 4, 1963, it would not be until 16 months later that this single would be issued in the U.S. on the Tollie label with a completely different version of the recording with Andy White on drums. This particular copy, the 2nd issue, was not issued until the winter of 1963, but is still very rare!

Very important to note that there is a -2 suffix after the matrix number in the trail off area. 1st issues did not have this suffix number.

The A-side publishing is credited to "Ardmore & Beechwood" only on these early pressings.

This 45 is highly sought after by collectors as the very first issues count less than 200 copies in existance. 2nd pressings as this one are a little easier to find and much more affordable.

No doubt this is quite an historic piece - one that was issued long before The Beatles were popular in North America.

Also included is the vintage Capitol sleeve.

Still Sealed: Original factory seal. Never opened. Never played. Perfect condition.

Mint: As stated. Like new with no defects

Near Mint: As stated near mint, or mint minus, same thing, very clean with no defect to sound or visual appearance. One scuff or mark may be permitted but it will be mentioned in the description. A near mint record looks and plays very clean.

Very Good: Still a very nice copy with minimal cover wear and/or delete marks or splits. Still visually appealing, the vinyl will retain its original gloss and can have some minor scuffs/scratches that don't affect the sound that much.

Good: A little more cover/ring wear and/or delete marks, seam splits, etc. The vinyl will still retain much of the original gloss but with a bit more scuffs and/or scratches.

Fair: Obvious cover/ring wear which is starting to detract from the cover's appeal. The vinyl will have obvious scuffs and/or scratches which affect the sound and detract from the look of the vinyl.

Poor: Abundant cover/ring wear which is detracts from the cover's appeal. The vinyl will have numerous scuffs and/or scratches which affect the sound.
