The Beatles : Magical Mystery Tour (LP) MAS 2835 (Stereo)
First US pressing of this iconic Beatles album, issued in 1967 with custom gatefold jacket and 24-page color booklet.
Classic original rainbow colored labels.
Side 1 Matrix # in dead wax area reads: SMAL-1-2835-A23 (hand etched) Side 2 Matrix # in dead wax area reads: SMAL-2-2835-A21 (hand etched)

This first pressing features high quality, deep groove, thick wax. High gloss. Multiple superficial surface marks are present but have little or no impact on the listening experience. Wax plays just shy of "near mint", with only very occasional faint surface noise ("crackle") audible between tracks and during a few quiet passages. Outstanding sound quality on this well recorded album. Spins true and flat, with no warpage.
Labels are bright and clean.

Front jacket color photo is clear and bright, with only modest rub wear.
Back jacket photo shows considerably more rub wear than front but photo is otherwise fine.
The custom 24-page booklet is complete and in good condition. Some pages of the booklet have shallow 1/2 to 1 inch creases but none are torn.
Some rub wear is present on left side of the two top seams of the gatefold; approx. 1/2 inch of seam split is present in that area on one of the two top seams.
Modest rub wear is present on the bottom seams of the gatefold and approx. 3/4 inch of seam split is present on the right side edge of one of the two bottom seams.
Approx. 1 and 1/2 inches of the spine paper is missing. Otherwise, the spine is intact and the spine print is clearly legible.

A wonderful copy of this classic Beatles album as a first US pressing on the original Capitol label, complete with the 24-page booklet. You can find cosmetically better looking copies of this one but you will be hard pressed to find a FINER SOUNDING copy. A joy of a listen. Hoping this one goes to a good home.
