Beatles Meet the Beatles
USA Capital records Mono 1964 press

ASCAP is listed for all songs except "I Want To Hold Your Hand", "I Saw Her Standing There" and "I Wanna Be Your Man" which are BMI.
Summary: 1964 Los Angles press of Meet the Beatles, USA Capitol Records T2047 in mono. Clean rainbow rim labels, glossy vinyl, no nasty marks, lovely mono sound, US cardboard sleeve, normal wear and tear, water damage on bottom edge.
Sleeve: US non-laminated cardboard sleeve. Fully proud and readable spine, no splits which are common to US sleeves. Water damage on bottom edge front and back. Small stain on back. Generally not bad for a US cardboard sleeve given age, just let down by water damage (see photos) graded VG- given no splits.
Label: Classic Capitol rainbow rim, labels remain clean, no writing, sticker residue etc, light spider trails from general use only (see photos) graded VG++
Vinyl: retains a lovely gloss with no nasty marks. Closer inspection under bright light shows a few (very few) feint surface lines, a couple of marks (mainly S2) and some wispy sleeve traces. Most only visible under light - nothing feelable and nothing that affects play. Graded VG++
Audio: Plays through with no major problems, nice clear mono sound audio. No skips, jumps or distortion. 3-4 small pops T1 S2, a little dust crackle in between some tracks, soon gone. Audio graded solid VG+ if not better (played on a Project carbon - blue 2M Ortofon)
I have tried to be honest and transparent in my description - the photographs form part of the description. Questions are welcome, don't hesitate to ask. I have been a collector for 47+ years buying and selling records over the years to feed my changing music habits. The few records I sell are either the results of upgrades or duplicates or a bit of thinning every now and again. If anything is not as expected, please contact me straight away and I will do everything to resolve any problems without argument.
I strictly adhere to the Record Collector Magazine's Grading Guide using one + or - as an additional guide:
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
