HE BEATLES - 'MILLION SELLERS'
UK 1965 1st PRESS EP
This barely played 1965 UK 1st pressing is on the yellow & black Parlophone label: GEP 8891
Both labels carry the incorrect 'Beatles Golden Discs' title, corrected on all subsequent issues.
Both also bear the 'Sold in UK..' text and 'The Gramophone Co. Ltd..' worded rims.
The 'KT' purchase tax code is visible in the centre of the side 2 label.
Housed in a front laminated, rounded bi-flipback picture cover.
Matrix numbers: 7TCE 888-1 & 7TCE 889-1
Stamper codes: 4/GT & 4/RO
CONDITION
Labels: NEAR MINT
A superb set with no more than 2 tiny spindle marks to the side 1 centre hole and a few small ones on 2.
Visual: EXCELLENT
Both playing surfaces retain all of their 'as new' deep-gloss shines, showing just a few light surface marks in strong daylight to each side but nothing deep or feelable. Close inspection directly beneath halogen light add to these just some harmless wispy paper hairlines but no further significant blemishes.
Play: EXCELLENT +
This copy has clearly been barely played and all tracks sound clean & clear with with no groove/play wear or any other deterioration to the sound quality. In fact, aside from a touch of light background between tracks, there is little else to fault here.
Cover
VERY GOOD
This fully intact example displays a bright & clean front panel which bears just a few small wrinkles & minor wear to the rear opening edge. The rear panel is a little dirty from storage but is free from any writing or missing paper.
