Here’s another item from my own personal collection of Beatles and Beatles-related vinyl up for auction. And please check out my other current auctions for other items you may want.

You’ve probably seen this PROMOTIONAL RECORD for auction on Ebay before, but have you seen the PROMOTIONAL FOLDER and MOVIE STILLS that accompanied this promotional record?

In this auction:

·        “THE BEATLES’ MOVIE MEDLEY”  by The Beatles

·       This is Capitol Records SPRO-9758/9.

·       This is a PROMOTIONAL 12-INCH SINGLE.

·       It was issued in February, 1982.

·       As the cover printing states, this record was issued to promote the release of The Beatles’ “REEL MUSIC” LP.

·       As you probably know, PROMOTIONAL RECORDS were pressed and issued in very limited quantities and were only made available to the DJs at the Radio Stations for on-air play. They were not made available to the general public. This makes them VERY sought after due to their rarity and limited quantities.

·       The LABELS have “NOT FOR SALE” printed on them.

·       The REVERSE SIDE of the COVER has “NOT FOR SALE” and “FOR PROMOTIONAL USE ONLY” printed on it.

·       This is a SIGNIFCANT RECORD! Why? In Perry Cox’s Price Guide for the Beatles American Records, Cox states that THIS IS THE ONLY U.S. BEATLES 12-INCH SINGLE RELEASED BY CAPITOL RECORDS!!!

·       The COVER is in VERY STRONG VG+ CONDITION. Only very slight/light wear on the front black cover (just a “hint” of very light partial ring wear) keeps me from grading the cover Near Mint.

·       The VINYL is in NEAR MINT CONDITION!!!

·       ALSO INCLUDED with this Promotional Record is “THE BEATLES REEL MUSIC” PROMOTIONAL FOLDER that is unmentioned/undocumented in Perry Cox’s Price Guide for the Beatles American Records in his description of this promotional record.

·       This “REEL MUSIC” PROMOTIONAL FOLDER measures 8 ¼ -inches X 10 ¼ -inches closed and has a glossy black finish.

·       Printed inside the “REEL MUSIC” PROMOTIONAL FOLDER is information about the 5 Beatles’ films and the music from them featured on the “REEL MUSIC” LP by noted author and rock & roll historian John Swenson and dated March, 1982. (NOTE: This “REEL MUSIC” PROMOTIONAL FOLDER is NOT the “Souvenir Program” that was included inside the retail copies of the “REEL MUSIC” LP.)

·       Inside the “REEL MUSIC” PROMOTIONAL FOLDER are FIVE BEATLES B&W GLOSSY THEATER STILLS (still photos) that represent each of the 5 films from which the music was derived and is represented in the “REEL MUSIC” LP. Each B&W glossy still measure 8 inches X 10 inches. (These stills are not actual movie stills that were produced for each film to display in movie theaters; instead, these stills were produced by Capitol to illustrate each of the five films that provide the music for the “REEL MUSIC” LP.) The Capitol Records logo is on the bottom of each still.

·       The “REEL MUSIC” PROMOTIONAL FOLDER and the FIVE B&W GLOSSY STILLS are in NEAR MINT CONDITION.

This is truly a VERY NICE BEATLES’ PROMO RECORD and PROMOTIONAL FOLDER that will be WONDERFUL ADDITION to anyone’s vinyl collection!!!

Thanks to the Price Guide for the Beatles American Records by Perry Cox and Frank Daniels for information about this LP.
