Description
In this auction:
· “NO ONE’S GONNA CHANGE OUR WORLD” The Stars Sing for the World Wildlife Fund (The Beatles, The Bee Gees, Cilla Black, Dave Dee-Dozy-Beaky-Mick-Tich, Bruce Forsyth, Rolf Harris, The Hollies, Lulu, Spike Mulligan, Cliff Richard and Harry Secomb)
· This LP is a U.K. Pressing – Regal/EMI Starline SRS-5013.
· It was issued December 12, 1969.
· This LP is UNIQUE for 2 reasons:
1) It contains the ORIGINAL VERSION of “ACROSS THE UNIVERSE” by the BEATLES that is quite different than the version on the “Let It Be” LP.
2) This LP represents one of the VERY FEW INSTANCES when the Beatles while still together allowed a song to be included in a compilation of other songs by other artists in a commercially released LP. (This does not include promo LPs issued, for example, by Capitol Records that included Beatles recordings with those of other Capitol artists’ for in-store play.)
· The original U.K. price is on the cover at the lower right corner.
· The rear cover has a message from HRM The Duke of Edinburgh (Prince Phillip) concerning the making of the record and the fact that, by the recording artists on it having waived all fees, the royalties from the sale of the LP will provide funds for saving rare animals in danger of extinction.
· The LP COVER is in STRONG VG+ CONDITION. The cover is the typical UK construction of thin poster board laminated on the front. There is very light cover wear with a small push on the bottom right corner, a light scuff just above “The WORLD WILDLIFE FUND” at the bottom of the front cover, and a very small light crease near the spine. The non-laminated rear cover is nice and clean.
· The VINYL is in VERY NICE NEAR MINT CONDITION.
· Included with this record is a U.K. stock plain paper inner sleeve.
A VERY NICE BEATLES-RELATED LP that is continuing to become hard-to-find these days.
