THE BEATLES - 'CRY FOR A SHADOW / WHY'
One of the earliest and rarest US pictures sleeves!
Released in 1964, this single features two of the earliest Beatles recordings available anywhere. In fact, both songs were recorded when the Beatles were playing as a backup band for Tony Sheridan as the Beat Brothers. "Cry for a Shadow", an instrumental rock tune originally titled "Beatle Bop" and written in 1961, is the only track credited to only Harrison and Lennon.
CONDITION
Sleeve: VERY GOOD
Still a solid example in great shape for its age, the sleeve does have a few defects. To begin with, the upper right hand corner has been snipped off, an unfortunately common practice utilized by record shops to designate discontinued items. In addition, there is a disc impression on both sides, as well as a small amount of wear towards the middle where the red ink has rubbed slightly onto some of the white letters. Other than that however, and surprisingly, the rest of the sleeve looks very well preserved. There are no creases or tears except for a few stress marks on the seams, and the corners are more or less sharp.This sleeve doesn't show up often even in this condition--don't miss your chance!
