A true original first-label-issue stereo copy sealed in its original factory shrink wrap! This copy is guaranteed to be on the original Capitol colorband label.
Thankfully, "Sgt. Pepper's" are remarkably easy to identify as first issues. Unlike other, earlier albums, all first issue stereo "Sgt. Pepper's" had the big yellow banner on the front--all other original pressings without the banner were mono. Later pressings were all stereo and did not have the banner.
Everybody knows that this is the album that changed music as we know it. "Sgt. Pepper's" ushered in a new era of music that would define the latter part of the 60s. Imagine being there right now, on June 1, 1967, holding a brand new cellophaned copy of the Beatles' latest LP in your hands, looking at the fantastically bizarre artwork. You're wondering just what they had cooked up this time, and running home to tear off the wrap and gaze at the gatefold portrait...
This is an incredible collector's copy with four great corners, no tears or creases--just great Beatles nostalgia in its purest form.

I have never used this grade before, because I personally believe that grades this high should be used only in cases when there are absolutely no alternatives. This is simply put, an ultimate collector's copy.The corners are all sharp, aside from a small bending that is a result from the shrink wrap pulling inward. There is no wear on the actual album itself, only a small amount of residue on the cellophane. The shrink wrap is 100% complete with not even a tiny sliver missing. The back of the wrap is slightly bubbly, but there are no problems otherwise. There are two 'breathe holes' on the front (one is pictured). The spine is vividly white and stocky (the minuscule amount of brown visible is dust attached the crease where the shrink wrap was melted together).
