THE BEATLES: ‘PLEASE PLEASE ME’ – AN ORIGINAL 1963 UK BLACK AND YELLOW PARLOPHONE MONO VINYL LP – PMC 1202

IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND WITH VINYL IN THIS BEAUTIFUL AND TRUE ALMOST MINT CONDITION, SOUND QUALITY SUPERB, NICE, FIRM SLEEVE, 100% ORIGINAL AND TOTALLY COMPLETE

The Beatles FIRST 1963 UK Album, ‘PLEASE PLEASE ME’ is considered HIGHLY COLLECTIBLE and, from our vast experience, it is RARE to find issues where the Vinyl Disc is in true ALMOST MINT condition, such as this one. Not surprisingly interest was extremely high for this SIGNIFICANT, long awaited Beatles 1st UK album. The majority were purchased for enjoyment purposes then - not future collectibility, as is the case now - and many were taken to parties where little care was taken to preserve the condition!

Album Description:

We are, therefore, delighted to offer this ORIGINAL 1963 UK Parlophone release. The HEAVYWEIGHT, and extremely well cared for, 12" MONO VINYL LP is on the traditional BLACK AND YELLOW PARLOPHONE Label, with ‘The Parlophone Co Ltd’ label rim, ‘Recording First Published 1963’ and ‘Made in Gt. Britain’ label text.

Side 1 matrix: XEX 421-1N and Side 2: XEX 422-1N.
Side 1 stampers: 1/GAR and Side 2: 4/GAO.
The embossed ‘KT’ tax code visible to the centre of the side 2 record label.

The album comes in its ORIGINAL ’Use ‘Emitex….’ Polythene Lined Printed Bag

…And is housed in its ORIGINAL, Front LAMINATED, ERNEST J DAY ‘mono’ sleeve, with three flip backs to the reverse, printed ‘Angus McBean’ to the bottom right hand corner of the front of the sleeve.

Condition:

The record labels are in SUPERB near mint condition, LOVELY, CLEAN, UNDAMAGED record labels, with nothing more than a few faint centre spider trails. BOTH sides of the GLISTENING vinyl surfaces grade a whisper short of mint. Both sides honestly GLEAM LIKE NEW. HARD TO FAULT THE VINYL IN ANY WAY, and REMARKABLE to find in this BEAUTIFULLY PRESERVED condition – needs to be seen to be fully appreciated! The Original ‘Use Emitex’ inner bag is in VERY CLEAN condition - just mild inevitable creasing, light fraying to the opening edge and a couple of small tears to one of the die cut areas, but nothing serious. The Original Ernest J Day picture sleeve is in overall excellent condition. The front panel is CLEAN, the Laminate EXTREMELY GLOSSY, and the colors DEEP, RICH and VIVID. There is mild bruising/wear to three of the corners and mild shelf wear to the bottom edge. The spine edge is FIRM and ‘Please Please Me The Beatles’ clearly readable. The reverse panel of the sleeve is CLEAN and BRIGHT, showing a few age handling signs, mild record indentation, and a couple of the flipbacks show light wear.

Play Quality:

As expected, the album Plays as IMPRESSIVELY as it looks. Both sides play BEAUTIFULLY through ALL the tracks. A POWERFUL, CLEAR Mono sound with NO skips or clicks evident and surprisingly NO background crackle during or between the tracks.

The Vinyl Disc in this package is in the FINEST condition we have seen in a very long while, and it would be difficult to find another one to match the condition of this example!
