For auction a ten inch Paul McCartney & Wings 45 RPM ACETATE - "Mary had a Little Lamb" dated May 17, 1972 Apple Records 1-Sided Stereo 3:30 ( see summary below)- VERY VERY RARE!!!!! CONDITION OF THIS ACETATE IS EXCELLENT. This is a 100% rare AUTHENTIC Apple Records Acetate.  It is in nice condition, other than a tiny .33 inch scratch, which is only visible under close inspection, the item is represenative of a period actetate. I believe this to be 45 RPM, maybe 78 RPM? I have never played this item, it was acquired from from a superb Beatle collection. The acetate is in the original sleeve. These original acetates are extremenly LIMITED, in some cases only a handful exist. This incarnation featuring : Paul and Linda, with Henry McCullough on mandolin.

After the fuss about "Give Ireland", it would appear Paul could not possibly play safer than with his version of a childrens nursery rhyme. Paul and Linda wrote the song because their young daughter, Mary, liked to hear her name being sung. In fact, it is the McCartney children that can be heard on the chorus.

The record was released in a picture sleeve, with the single label featuring the same picture as the sleeve.

Incidentally, the Parlophone catalogue number is exactly one thousand higher than the Beatles first Parlophone single "Love Me Do" which was R 4949.
