Paul McCartney Single "PRESS" White Label and One Sided Promo ORIGINAL from 1986!!!!

Released on the 14th July 1986!!!! This entered the UK charts on the 26th July 1986 where it reached the Number 25 slot and remained in the charts for a total of 8 weeks!!!!

This was the 37th official single release by Paul McCartney!!!!

This Track was released as a Preview for the "Press To Play" Album which followed almost 2 months later!!!!

After the Box Office flop of the film "Give My Regards To Broad Street" Paul decided that it was time for a change of Pace in his career!!!! In an attempt to give his Music a more contemporary sound, he Joined forces with Hugh Padgham, an in-demand Producer famed for having recorded Peter Gabriel, Genesis, Phil Collins, The Police and XTC!!!!

Beginning in March 1985, Paul bagan recording "Press To Play", having written several New songs, many in Collaboration with former 10CC member Eric Stewart!!!!

"Press" a slick up-tempo Pop song, was released in July 1986 and Surprisingly became a Top 30 hit in the UK and US!!!! "Press To Play" itself appeared in September to the most Positive reviews Paul had received in Years and Stunned everyone by being his Weakest-Selling album of his Solo career!!!! Peaking at Number 8 in the UK, it's Chart life was Brief, while in the US, it Failed to even go Gold, cresting at an Underwhelming Number 30 and selling only 250,000 copies!!!! The follow up singles "Pretty Little Head" and "Only Love Remains" also performed Poorly!!!!

This Promo does NOT have the standard Mother and Stamper Codes and they are as follows!!!!

Side One: On the run out grooves are stamped R613 4-3U-1-1-1. There are No single numbers but it Does have the letter D.

Side Two: On the run out grooves are stamped FB7 LP FP. There numbers No single numbers but it Does have X1.

The above Codes prove this to be one of the Very First First Pressings cut of this highly sought after single!!!! Only a Handfull of these White Label Demos were produced and they were given to "Radio Disc Jockeys", "Record Executives" and EMI Employees to help Promote the sales of each Record!!!! These were NOT FOR SALE and should NOT have got through to the General Public!!!!

CONDITION!!!!

The Pure White Labels to Both Sides: are in Very Good+/Excellent Condition with No signs of Wear or Marks!!!! The Vinyl still retains that Gloosy Look and has clearly been Very Well looked after which is reflected in the playback!!!! There are one or two "Tiny" marks showing on the Vinyl when held up to a bright light (though most of these have been caused by handling)!!!! There are no Pops, Clicks or Jumps anywhere!!!! I play graded this on a Linn LP12 Sondek through a Linn System (which is very unforgiving). The Playback was "Superb"!!!! The record lays perfectly Flat with no Warping!!!!

PLEASE NOTE Side 2: Of this single was NOT Recorded on ALL there is, is a Continuous Tone during Playback!!!! 

I would give this Record an overall grade of VERY GOOD +/EXCELLENT!!!!

Please be aware that this Record is for the Label Enthusiast as opposed to the Listening Devotee!!!! These   White  Label Demos do NOT surface Often as once they are in a Collectors possession they as a Rule stay!!!!

This Record comes supplied in it's Original White Sleeve which has no Rips, Tears or Writing, there is a Sticker on the Sleeve which has printed From Joe Reddington and the numbers 439 6621 written and would grade as Very Good++!!!!

I like to point out ALL or any Defects so the buyer knows EXACTLY what they are getting. They may sound a little off putting but I can ASSURE you they are tiny in comparison to the "RARITY" of this item. I am expecting a lot of interest in this simply because it is NOT something you will often see for sale. Look on Ebay or ANY Beatles related websites and you will find these Very Difficult to locate!!!!! Awesome!!!!
