Description
Rare one-sided 1974 US Apple test pressing of Junior’s Farm. It’s an edited stereo version for radio station play (just over 3 minutes in length). After the “Take me down, Jimmy” guitar solo, it omits the second verse (“At the houses of Parliament...”) and goes straight to the third verse (“I took my bag into a grocery store...”).
Plain white label with “1974 EMI Records Limited” and the usual test pressing disclaimer (technical/authorized personnel only, not to be sold, distributed, etc.). No writing on the label (sometimes is, to ID the song/artist/playing time). There is a round discolored area where a sticker was removed.
The trail-off area has a hand-etched identifier “SPRO-8003-F-1”, and machine-stamped “MASTERED BY CAPITOL”, an asterisk (*) symbol, and the “sideways stem glass” symbol (identifying Capitol’s Winchester pressing plant).
Also in the trail-off area, there’s a faint trace remaining of the handwritten markings made by the record shop where I bought it (many) years ago - “15.00” and “Promo Pressing” - only visible under direct light.
CONDITION (Visual grading):
Beautiful Near Mint (highest grade I use). It looks like new and still has its luster, with no scratches or scuffs.
