Description
The time has come for me to part with my 50 year old Beatles collection. This collection consists of LP's, 45's, picture sleeves, EP's, 12" singles, picture discs, sealed LP's, test pressings, acetates, promos, box sets, and CD's from the US and the UK. The collection also includes vinyl and CD's from John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, and Apple artists. There are numerous rarities in this collection. The vast majority of the vinyl is in NM- to NM condition; I tried not to acquire anything with a grade below that, or attempted to upgrade, although a few of the extremely hard to find items I was unable to upgrade and they will have a grade below that. Paul McCartney & Wings-"Red Rose Speedway" LP, a UK import, pressed in 1978. This is an extremely rare test pressing copy of the LP. The EMI inner sleeve, side 1 of the LP and an EMI Music Services internal paper all have the YEX-903 prefix with a date of 18-10-78. The LP was originally released in 1973. I'm unable to reconcile the difference. This might be a re-issue, but I'm just not able to say. Side one stamped matrix number is YEX 903-3, and side two: YEX 904-3. These matrix number match the 1973 UK pressing. Vinyl, VISUALLY graded by Goldmine standards, is in VG+ condition, with a few light marks. This comes in a plain white sleeve. The enclosed "Internal Use Only" sheet is in VG+ condition with a fold in one corner. Very scarce piece of Paul vinyl, in overall excellent shape. Test pressings are by their nature beyond rare.
