Description
Here is a MINT STILL SEALED BEATLES or BEATLES-RELATED LP from my collection. I listed this LP before, but the high bidder cancelled the transaction, so if you missed out on it the first time, here is your chance to try to win it again.
In this auction:
· “BAND ON THE RUN” by Paul McCartney & Wings
· This is Apple Records SO - 3415.
· This record was originally issued December 5, 1973.
· This LP is in MINT STILL SEALED CONDITION. It is STILL in its ORIGINAL SHRINK WRAP. The Shrink Wrap has “breathe holes” and there is NO BAR CODE.
· The shrink wrap has the PAUL McCARTNEY/WINGS ROUND BLUE STICKER on it.
· This LP is an APPLE RECORDS PRESSING. How do I know this, since the LP is still sealed? I recall maybe 10-12 years I won a couple of sealed Beatles LPs from Perry Cox, and he had stated that they had green Capitol labels (issued 1969-1971). The shrink wrap was split about 5-6 inches in the middle of the opening with 2 pieces of clear tape at the top and bottom of the cut to avoid complete splitting of the shrink wrap. I understand that this was done to spread the opening a bit, and with a small light, shine inside to see the label.
· I followed the same procedure on this LP. I applied 2 pieces of clear tape about 3 inches from the top and bottom of the opening and slit the shrink wrap in between the 2 pieces of tape. However, after I slit the shrink wrap, I saw inside that the vinyl is in the CUSTOM THICK-STOCK INNER SLEEVE. This Thick-Stock Inner Sleeve was ONLY issued with Apple Records pressings. It was NOT issued with the Capitol Records pressings that followed the Apple Records pressings. (Therefore, I didn’t see the need to slice through the thick-stock inner sleeve to see the labels.) The labels on the Apple pressings have the PASSPORT PHOTOS CUSTOM APPLE LABELS.
· This is most likely a second Apple Pressing issued between 1974 – 1975 because the cover is made of posterboard instead of cardboard. There is a small push on the bottom left corner at the base of the spine and very light wear on the corner at the bottom of the opening where the shrink wrap has a small ½ -inch split that exposed that corner to slight wear.
· The POSTER is also included inside the cover. The poster measures 27 inches x 20 inches.
· This LP has been described as Sir Paul’s BEST LP with GREAT CUTS including “Band On The Run”, “Jet”, “Let Me Roll It”, and “Helen Wheels”.
A VERY NICE Paul McCartney STILL SEALED APPLE LP for YOUR vinyl collection!!!
