THE BEATLES - 'STRAWBERRY FIELD FOREVER'/'PENNY LANE'
UK 1967 1st PRESSING 45 & PICTURE SLEEVE
This EXCELLENT 1967 UK 1st pressing 45 is on the black & silver Parlophone label: R 5570
Both labels carry the 'Sold in UK.. text & 'Gramophone Co. Ltd...' worded rim texts.
The 'KT' purchase tax code is visible in the centre of the 'Penny Lane' label.
Housed in its original full colour, limited edition, thin paper picture cover.
Matrix numbers: 7XCE 18415-1 & 7XCE 18416-2
Stamper codes: 1/AO & 7/TD
CONDITION
Labels: EXCELLENT
A clean pair with slight wear to each centre hole and some faint spindle marks around each. There is a small depression just next to the 'Strawberry Fields Forever' hole which appears to be a manufacturing fault.
Visual: EXCELLENT
Both playing surfaces are clean & glossy with the only mark in strong daylight being a light 2cm fingernail scuff on Strawberry Fields Forever'. However, apart from that there are no further surface marks or wear - even directly beneath my unforgiving powerful halogen desk lamp.
Play: VERY GOOD +
This copy has recieved just some very careful play and is without any significant deterioration to the sound quality throughout. My careful playcheck found some evidence of light playwear on both songs but nothing major or too distracting.
Cover
VERY GOOD +
A respectable example of this fragile cover which displays some light age-toning to the paper and some faint storage wrinkles but no writing, tears or splits to any seam.
