There is yellowing on the back cover and slight darkness where the front laminate joins to the back cover due to age and use. The cover has had a plastic sleeve on it for many years and has been very well protected. The record was purchased from a reputable vinyl Dealer at the Birmingham Record Fair in 1998 (ish) and was negotiated to a price of 30 Pounds. I played it ONCE after bringing it to America and recorded it to iTunes immediately. It has been in storage, in my music room, with the collection of 240+ Beatles LP's. I am selling this because I have replaced it with a STELLAR copy for price of 155 Pounds from a UK mail-order company. This copy is well a keeper if you're not as manic as I about Beatle records! _______1963 - 47 years old The first two issues were on the black and gold design label and the first yellow/black issue lacked the 'Recording First Published' text. This is technically the fourth issue, still from 1963 and still with -1 matrix numbers. Matrix numbers: The matrix numbers on both sides finish -1 indicating that this copy was among the first pressed: Side One XEX 421-1N Side Two XEX 422-1N __Complete with the original 'Use Emitex' poly-lined inner. The vinyl has retained its original shine despite being over 40 years old. This is highly unusual as many copies of this album were played excessively at parties during the '60s and many became damaged or badly scratched. All items are at least excellent condition unless we state otherwise so please read our descriptions carefully. We try to source items as close to Mint condition as possible, many will indeed be unplayed and as close to new as you could hope to find.
