Record
Labels: EXCELLENT +
A superb bright & clean set with perfect, undamaged gold print and no touch-up or hole wear.
Visual: EXCELLENT
A real deep-gloss 'as new' shine to both surfaces with no dull or cloudly patches. Viewed in direct daylight a few light fingernail marks and occaisional stylus scratch are visible but certainly nothing major or feelable. Inspection under halogen light shows a few thin, wispy paper hairlines, but nothing further than a healthy rainbow shine. The disc shows no signs of warping or dishing on the turntable.
Play: EXCELLENT
The previous owner was primarily a jazz lover and I am reliably informed that this disc was not played very often at all. However, when it was it was done with care on good quality equipment. Therefore it is no surprise that all tracks play cleanly & clearly without any background noise/crackle or groovewear distortion. I downgraded the audio from EX+ because of a single 1-groove skip on 'Misery'. However, there are no other significant or major audible faults elsewhere. Even the easily worn 'Please, Please Me', & 'Twist & Shout' play without the usual damaged grooves. Both run-ins & all bands play exteremely quietly and with just an occaisional light tick but no heavy clicks or othersuch intereference. Not many around in this fine shape.
Cover
VERY GOOD
A respectable, early example with a clean, bright & glossy front laminate which displays just a few light edge wrinkles but no other significant wear. There is a water mark to the lower left corner but both opening edges are clean & undamaged. The rear is clean & white but has a watermark and a small section of missing flipback to the lower right corner. Both seams and the spine are strong & unsplit.
