1963 UK 1st MONO PRESSING LP
*1ST BLACK & GOLD WITH 'DICK JAMES..' CREDITS*
**EXCELLENT COPY**
This superb 1963 first mono pressing is on the UK black & GOLD Parlophone label: PMC 1202
Both labels omit the 'Sold in UK..' text but carry 'Parlophone Co Ltd...' rims
The labels carry the 'Dick James Mus. Co.' publishing credits for side 1 songs: 1,2,6 & 7 and side 2: 4 & 6.
The 'MT' tax/price code is visible in the centre of the side two label.
Housed in a correct, front laminated, flipback 'E.J. Day' cover with the 'Angus McBean' credit in the extreme lower right corner
Complete with original clear windowed 'Use Emitex' inner-sleeve.
Matrix numbers: XEX 421-1N & XEX 422-1N
Stamper numbers: 1/G & 1/R
Labels: NEAR MINT
A superb set with no missing paper and true centre holes which have not been 'inked in' to hide wear.
Visual: EXCELLENT
As you can see from the quality and condition of the labels, this copy has been treated well and has rarely seen a turntable over the past 42 years.
Pressed on very heavy thick vinyl, the surfaces still retain their high gloss finish and are undulled by 'groove-whitening', 'bag rash' or over-use.
Side one bears a few careless 'fingernail' lines but no scratches. Side two has just one light mark and is in near pristine condition.
There are certainly no deep marks or scratches and the disc is absolutely 100% flat on the turntable without dishing or warping.
Audio: EXCELLENT
I have played the entire LP very loudly so I can accurately report the sound quality.
The run-ins and all bands play silently with no crackle, hiss, heavy clicks or pops audible.
A touch of groovewear is audible during the first 30 seconds of 'I Saw Her Standing There' but thereafter the track continues flawlessly.
The remainder of the songs play superbly with very little lessening in sound quality without crackle, hiss, pops, clicks, jumps or repeats.

Cover: EXCELLENT MINUS
The front panel is bright and clean with an unscratched, undamaged laminate bearing just a few light creases to the edges but no 'thumbnails'.
The corners and opening edge display some light storagewear but have no major damage to them.
The rear panel is clean with minor areas of discolouration and feint initials in pencil beside each track listing, but no other marks or missing paper.
All the delicate flipbacks are in place with just a small area of creasing towards the lower right corner but no other damage.
The seams are strong and unsplit and the spine is unworn, clean and readable with no missing paper or laminate.
