THE BEATLES - 'PLEASE, PLEASE ME'
1963 UK 1st MONO PRESSING LP
*BLACK & GOLD LABELS WITH 'DICK JAMES' CREDITS*
This rare copy of the very first 1963 mono pressing is on the UK black & gold Parlophone label: PMC 1202
The labels carry the incorrect 'Dick James Mus. Co.' publishing credits for songs: 1,2,6 & 7 on side 1; and 2, 4 & 6 on side 2.
The 'MT' tax/price code is visible in the centre of the side 2 label.
Housed in a correct, front laminated, flipback 'E.J. Day' cover with the 'Angus McBean' credit in the extreme lower right corner.
Complete with original 'Use Emitex' poly-lined inner-sleeve.
N.B. This is a different copy to the one I sold two weeks ago.

Labels: Side 1: EXCELLENT PLUS Side 2: EXCELLENT
An excellent set with just some light hole wear on side 2 but no 'touch-up' or missing paper.
Visual: VERY GOOD
Played but certainly not abused, the surfaces are clean, bright and glossy; undulled by groove-whitening from overplay.
Inspection in daylight and under a halogen desk lamp reveal some light surface marks and the occaisional light scratch but no deep/'feelable' marks.
A sight dish is visible on side 1 which does not affect sound or play. Side 2 lies 100% flat.
Audio: VERY GOOD PLUS
Moderately but not overplayed; there is very little lessening to the sound quality and the entire disc plays without any major audible wear.
Listening carefully at volume, light groovewear is audible on 'I Saw Her Standing There' and thereafter intermittantly on some extreme loud peaks only.
Both run-ins and all bands play very quietly with only the occaisional low-level soft 'tick' but no crackle, heavy clicks or pops.
There are no jumps or repeats anywhere.
Cover: VERY GOOD PLUS
The front panel is bright and clean with an unscratched, undamaged laminate bearing just a few light wrinkles to the edges but no 'thumbnails'.
The lower corners display minor storagewear but no splits or tears and the opening edges are clean, sharp with no missing paper, tears or 'feathering'.
The rear panel is clean and white with no discolouration at all or any writing, marks or missing paper.
There are small sections of missing paper to the upper and lower flipback corners but the spine is clean, strong and undamaged.
There is slight wear to the upper seam but no missing paper or laminate.
