Without "Sold in the UK" printing on Label
A Nice and rare Early Stereo Pressing of the Beatles First Album " Please Please Me". This album was first released on the BLACK / GOLD label in March of 1963. In late April early May, the label was changed to the Yellow / Black style Label . This auction is for a very early and rare Stereo Pressing on the Yellow and Black label.
Stamper codes are:
Side 1: YEX 94-1 Mother / Stamper codes 1 / GG ( First Lacquer, First Mother, 11th stamper )
Side 2: YEX 95-1 Mother / Stamper codes 1 / M ( First Lacquer, First Mother, 4th stamper )
MT Tax Codes on Side 1. Correct for any very early Pressing.
No "Sold in the UK" printing on label.
Based on the above information this pressing was produced sometime in Late May or June of 1963. An early 1st Pressing on the Second Label Style; Parlophone Y/B label.
The vinyl under strong sunlight shows some general wispy lines, and some light nicks/sleeve markings on the surface. However, these are superficial, visible only under strong sunlight, and do not interfere with playback. There are absolutely no skips or jumps during playback on any songs. There is occasional low level vinyl noise on the run-in grooves in between some songs, and also on a spot on side two with the songs " A taste of honey" and "There's a Place" , but this is minor and does not detract from an otherwise terrific sounding stereo pressing. Vinyl is visually graded EX on both sides and EX on playback. Please see photos for details.
Labels have very nice & clean spindle holes with some spindle markings and good clean printing on the labels. Signs of a well cared for LP.
Record comes with the original Emitex inner sleeve which is also in great shape. No seam splits or yellowing. Excellent condition.
The cover is very presentable and very clean. There are no tears or creases on any part of the photos. Cover has no seam splits and only slight flaw is a little discoloration on the back bottom seams. Overall, cover is excellent with no ring wear evident on either side and no tears what so ever.
Overall a very nice playing stereo pressing of this 1st Beatles Album and a very rare and hard to come by Original Stereo Pressing of the beatles 1st LP in very nice shape. A fine addition to any rare beatles collection. Any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
Additional Notes: Record was play graded on a Well Tempered Reference Turntable with Ortofon Super OM40 cartridge that was properly aligned using the Wally Tractor Alignment Tool and HI-FI test tracks record.
